Bohemian Souls

A Facsimile of the Original Manuscript of
"A Scandal in Bohemia" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
along with Commentary on the Story

Edited & introduced by Otto Penzler, BSI

One of the best Sherlock Holmes stories, and the tale featuring the woman Irene Adler, now appears with new insights and new perspectives as the seventh volume of the Baker Street Irregulars Manuscript Series.  Noted mystery expert Otto Penzler, winner of both Edgar and Ellery Queen awards, edits and introduces this examination of "A Scandal in Bohemia."

The volume, published by the BSI in cooperation with the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin, contains a facsimile of Arthur Conan Doyle's original manuscript for this tale, along with a thoroughly annotated typescript and commentary by Phillip Bergem.  Bohemian Souls includes important additions to the literature on Irene Adler by noted Sherlockians Ray Betzner, Michael Kean, John Linsenmeyer, Donald Pollock, and Julia Rosenblatt.  Additional commentary is provided by Curtis Armstrong, Andrew Jay Peck, and Randall Stock.
